ACCOMMODATION

High standard of accommodation available in Highlands Hotel(074-9551111), Lake House Hotel, Portnoo and Nesbitt’s Hotel, Ardara and in numerous B&B’s in Glenties and the surrounding area.  (See www.macgillsummerschool.com)

Prices vary but in general hotel rate is approx €50 per person(including breakfast).  B&B’s from approx. €35 per person(including breakfast)

Celebrated and beautiful Narin Strand and pier in picturesque Portnoo about 20 minutes by car from Glenties

THERE WILL BE TRANSPORT AVAILABLE FROM HIGHLANDS HOTEL TO NARIN STRAND FOR A WALK OR A SWIM EVERY MORNING MONDAY-FRIDAY LEAVING AT 8.00 A.M. AND LEAVING NARIN AT 9.15.

The home of the McLoones in Glenties where lived the aunts of the playwright, Brian Friel, who inspired his classic,  “Dancing At Lughnasa”—The birthplace of Patrick MacGill in the Glen–Fishing Port of Killybegs—Glenveagh National Park—Glebe Gallery and the late Derek Hill’s Residence—Dolmen Centre, Kilclooney-Ardara famous for tweed–Magees, Donegal Town–The Gaeltacht of Glencolumbcille(Turas Cholmcille, Archeology and beautiful Silver Strand-600 metre-high cliffs of Sliabh Liag, St. Conal’s Church in Glenties by Liam McCormick.
