Carole Pollard

A graduate of Dublin School of Architecture DIT and registered RIAI architect,   she holds a MA in History of Design (NCAD). Publications include Knowing Liam in North by Northwest, the life and work of Liam McCormick, Gandon Editions (2008), Liam McCormick Seven Donegal Churches, Gandon Editions (2011), Changing the Mould – the work of sculptor Nell Pollen, Irish Arts Review (2012), More Than Concrete Blocks, vol.1, ed. Ellen Rowley, Four Courts Press (2016) and Liam McCormick and Imogen Stuart – A Lifelong Affair in Modern Religious Architecture in Germany, Ireland and Beyond: influence, process and afterlife since 1945, eds. Lisa Godson and Kathleen James Chakraborty, Bloomsbury Academic (2018). Carole is RIAI Accredited in Conservation Grade III and works as an architectural researcher with particular interest in Irish C20th architecture. She teaches at Dublin School of Architecture DIT on the undergraduate Architecture degree course and as a tutor in Professional Diploma in Architectural Practice. She was President of the RIAI from 2016 – 2017.  She continues this work as RIAI spokesperson on planning and urban environment.
