Catherine Devitt is Head of Policy with Stop Climate Chaos, a coalition of environmental, development and faith-based organisations campaigning for Ireland to do its fair share on climate change. Through her academic work, Catherine has published widely on a range of environmental policy topics, including environmental risk and policy reform, adaptation to climate change, novel ecology, and socio-ecological resilience. More broadly, through her own social science consultancy, Catherine has published on on-farm biosecurity and animal welfare policy. Catherine has a Masters Degrees in Environmental Policy, in Sociology, and a degree in Social Science. She is an avid vegetable grower, and has a diploma in organic horticulture. Catherine is also an occasional lecturer at UCD Environmental Policy. Before joining the Coalition, Catherine worked as environmental policy officer with the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, leading the advocacy and campaigning work of the Province, and driving the development of higher education for social transformation in Jesuit universities across Europe.
