Dr Adele Bergin is a Senior Research Officer at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin. She obtained her PhD in Economics from NUI Maynooth in 2011. Adele is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, a Research Fellow with the Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA) and a Council Member of the Irish Economics Association. Her research interests are in labour economics and macro-economic modelling. She has undertaken research projects on behalf of a wide range of organisations including the European Commission, the Department of Finance, the Central Bank of Ireland, SOLAS, Pobal, the Higher Education Authority, the Workplace Relations Commission and the Department of Health. She has published in a broad number of domestic and international journals and her recent research has examined topics such as skills mismatch in the labour market and modelling the potential macroeconomic impact of various Brexit scenarios on the Irish economy.
