Leo Varadkar TD

Leo Varadkar was elected Taoiseach on 14 June 2017. Born in Dublin, educated at King’s Hospital School and TCD where he qualified as a medical doctor. Elected to Fingal County Council in 2004.  He was elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael TD for the Dublin West constituency in 2007. He previously served as Party Spokesperson on Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. Former Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, former Minister for Health, and  former Minister for Social Protection. He was elected leader of Fine Gael on 2 June 2017.
